Who we are

Hookups is a social network and creator platform. The data controller is Hookups. Contact: privacy@hookups.no.

What we collect

Account: email and username. Profile (optional): date of birth, gender, orientation, location, bio and images. Phone number (hidden from other users, used for verification). Content you create: posts, comments, messages and subscriptions. Technical: essential authentication cookies.

Why we process your data

To provide the service (account, posts, messages, subscriptions), for security and moderation, and to let others find you via discovery.

Lawful basis

Contract (to provide the service), consent (for optional profile fields you choose to provide and display), and legitimate interest (security and abuse prevention).

Special-category data

Sexual orientation is special-category data. The field is optional; by filling it in you consent to it being shown on your profile and in discovery. You can remove it at any time.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell your data. Data is stored with Supabase (our processor) in the EU. User-generated content is never machine-translated.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted or anonymized.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and data portability. You can download your data and delete your account under Settings. You may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Age

The service is for people aged 18 and over only.
